It was nothing crazy, but serviceable in both PvE and PvP with a perk set of Quickdraw, Life Support and Firefly. One of the few weapons in D1 with a set roll. The Taken King introduced the Devil's Dawn as strike specific loot with a static roll. D2 currently has so few good legendary options that I use a rare (blue) sniper in the crucible because it has snapshot and the ambush scope.
With special coming back to the crucible, there needs to be a return to actually good snipers.
